Pink Party Dress

I really believe that every woman's closet needs that one fun party dress that just makes her smile. This Shabby Apple dress is definitely that piece for me. It has a very "Kate Spade vibe" (without the KS price tag!) and it fits like a glove. Such a win!

Since I am usually in work wear, when I do step out of the corporate fashion bubble, I like to really break from it. I, therefore, love choosing bold colors like this bright pink. I definitely plan on wearing this dress to a few day time parties this summer.

When I do break out a stand out piece like this dress, I try to keep my accessories neutral. I picked up these Kate Spade low strap mary jane's at Winners a few weeks ago and I can't get enough of them. They are the perfect compliment to any bold outfit (work-day wise or party wise).

It poured rain here all weekend so a lot of my fun weekend plans got rained out. It definitely did not leave me in the best head space to start this work week, but, I am trying to start today with a positive attitude (and a very large cup of coffee). Here's to a great week ahead!

Gorgeous Work Day Hair: How I Get a Blowout That Lasts For 3 Days

This post was sponsored by Dove, Nexxus, TRESemmé and Shoppers Drug Mart via Mode Media Canada. The opinions expressed herein are those of the author, who is a paid influencer, and are not indicative of the opinions or positions of Dove, Nexxus, TRESemmé and Shoppers Drug Mart.

Everyone wants to put their best foot forward at work, and that includes looking your best. That is why today I wanted to share with you how I blowout my hair so that I can get three days of great looking hair! With 30 minutes of effort Monday morning my hair stays polished for three days!

Monday mornings, I start with freshly cleaned hair. Once I have freshly cleaned hair, I blow dry until it’s 80% dry. I then put my hair into hot rollers. To set my curlers, I use TRESemmé TRES Two Hair Spray. This hairspray gives you an incredible hold that lasts all day and doesn’t “knot”. This is key to being able to keep your blowout into days 2 & 3!

After removing my hot rollers I gently brush through my hair and add one more spritz of TRESemmé TRES Two Hair Spray. Because I have side-swept bangs, I also have to style them. For that, I use Nexxus Comb Thru finishingspray. This is the perfect product for bangs because it sets your hair without taking away its movement (as regular hairspray can). This product is a must have for bangs and face-framing layers!

Voila! Thanks to TRESemmé & Nexxus, you have an easy to achieve blowout. But let me guess… you’re wondering “but HOW does this last 2-3 days?!” Don’t worry readers, it’s simple! First, you need to ensure your hair doesn’t tangle while you sleep. That’s why TRESemmé TRES Two Hair Spray is an essential product. Second, you need to use Dry Shampoo

DoveInvigorating Dry Shampoo is an aerosol that doesn’t weigh your hair down. A spritz of this on your roots on Day 2 is all you need to keep your blowout looking great.

So there you have it; 3 days of great hair! TRESemmé, Nexxus and Dove products are all available at your local Shoppers Drug Mart. To check out more looks and complete your To ‘Do List this summer go to

Wednesday Wants: Pastels

office appropriate dresses and pencil skirts

Pastels are, unsurprisingly, on-trend every spring. What I have noticed this year though is that we are seeing more and more work appropriate items - pencil skirts, sheath dresses & dress pants - in pastel colors. This is something that I haven't seen as much in years past, and I am glad we are getting this diversity in work wear color!

This week's wants are focused entirely on pastel work appropriate items. My favorite is probably the pale blue sheath dress. I would love to wear this to work with a pair of nude pumps.

I hope you are all having a great work week!

Must Try Trend: The Wrap Skirt

Wrap skirts have been everywhere this spring, and I have had my eye on a couple for the past few weeks. I stumbled across this navy one at Winners and had to buy it. The color & length are perfect for work, but the faux wrap look takes this pencil skirt from boring to stylish and on-trend.

I definitely recommend the wrap skirt trend as one of this season's trends to actually incorporate into your wear-to-work wardrobe.
Trends can be tricky- especially when it comes to wearing them to the office - but wrap skirts are definitely work appropriate.

To all of you who read my blog regularly - my apologies for not posting this weekend! As you may have read in this post, I deviated from my usual Friday posting schedule because of a post that was supposed to go live Saturday morning.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, it did was not able to be published. I am so sorry to anyone who checked back on Saturday and saw nothing! The post will be coming later this week though, so stay tuned!

Wednesday Wants: Work Appropriate Spring Jewelry

work appropriate jewelry

I've been wanting to update my jewelry collection lately. I love jewelry because it is one way you can add individuality to your style when you work in a corporate/professional setting. That being said, I do try to stick to less assuming pieces that don't draw too much attention.

For this spring I am definitely loving/wanting marble & rose gold as well as focusing on rings with unique shapes or gems. What jewelry trends do you want to add to your work wardrobe?

My crazy few weeks of work is finally starting to wind down (it becomes much less busy after Friday) so I am excited to spend more time reading, going to the beach & working on blog posts! Just a heads up - this week I will be deviating slightly from my posting schedule and instead of posting on Friday, I will be posting on Saturday. I promise it's worth the wait though and I can't wait to share the post with you!

As a young professional it is tough to build up your wear-to-work wardrobe. You want to put your best foot forward in your career, and that includes looking & feeling your best. Blazers are a wardrobe staple for young professionals, so today I have got your guide to the top 5 blazers every working woman needs.

(1) Fitted Black Blazer

A fitted black blazer is the absolute staple of any young professional's wardrobe. It's a timeless piece that can be worn with just about anything. I recommend keeping a well fitted black blazer in your office at all times. Think of it as your professional looking security blanket - thought you had a casual day and then suddenly an important meeting is thrown at you? You can add a fitted blazer to whatever you are wearing to make your outfit appropriate for any work event. You can shop my top picks for fitted black blazers below.

(2) Menswear Inspired Blazer

Every woman needs a powerful blazer in her arsenal, and a menswear inspired style is perfect for that. A tuxedo jacket, similar to the one I am wearing here, is a great style that carries both the confidence of a menswear inspired blazers and the fashion forward element that every working fashionista wants. You can shop my top menswear inspired blazer picks below.

(3) Good Quality Blazer

While you are starting out in your professional career, you may not have the budget to go crazy on work wear. In my opinion you don't need a ton of expensive blazers, but you do need one really good quality blazer. My personal favorite blazer is the one pictured in the above photo from Citzen's Mark. The fabric and tailoring are so high quality and so beautiful!

(4) Cropped Blazer

A cropped blazer is an important item of wear-to-work clothing that pairs well with those wide-leg trousers you've been seeing on-trend this year, as well as office appropriate dresses. Below you can shop my personal favorite cropped blazers.

 (5) Bold Blazer

Every working woman needs one bold or bright blazer they can wear to work that is their "stand out" item. I love wearing a bright blue, emerald or red blazer with basic black to brighten up my work wear. Below are my favorite bold blazers; and all are under $200!

Ruffles & Pleats

 Similar Top // Skirt c/o // Heels // Similar Handbags (1), (2), (3) // Necklace // Statement Ring // Midi Rings

The combination of ruffles & pleats is so feminine; I cannot stop wearing this effortless spring work look! This dark green skirt is such a pretty color and it works so well paired with crisp white & rose gold!

The weather here has been so beautiful lately; perfect for wearing midi skirts to work. While I am primarily a pants girl (you may have noticed my love for skinny work pants here, here & here haha) it is nice to add something different to my work wardrobe. Do you wear midi skirts to work?

I cannot wait for this weekend! I've got a ton of fun things planned including attending a launch party with a fellow fashion blogger (follow along on instagram for details!), a backyard BBQ and a Sunday morning girls brunch.
