Pretty In Polka Dots

Happy Friday, everyone! It's Amanda from Enchanting Elegance, a fashion and lifestyle blog where women can come to be inspired on creating their own personal style. I also run a side photography business and just had my baby girl Ava back in August. I'm so honored to be guest posting today on LegalLee Blonde!

Now a little bit about this polka dot ensemble. I love to add a bit of whimsy to all of my outfits whether is be a fun print, a bit of sparkle, or my all time favorite fabric of tulle, my goal is to have fun with my looks in an enchanting and romantic way. The classic color combo of red, black, and white is one that will always be in style and deliver a dose of sophistication. The bold polka dots make this outfit stand out and gives it a retro vibe. Who doesn't love a good twirl too?!

8 Pieces Every Professional Fashionista NEEDS in her Wardrobe

Hey Everyone! I am Bree - the blogger behind The Urban Umbrella which is a Vancouver based personal style and beauty blog that aims to help readers achieve their own personal sense of style regardless of their budget. I am so thrilled to be here on my fellow Vancouverites blog and I can’t wait to dive in and tell you the items you NEED in your wardrobe to rock your professional style!

Professional style can be quite tricky. Creating a unique look that makes you stand out amongst the crowd can prove difficult. The thing is though, professional style is all about structure, modest hemlines, and power pieces. Once you have that thought in your mind, it becomes much more natural to build a stylish look for the office.

Tropical Vacation - Fashion Sneak Peek

Guess what!? Tomorrow I am off to the tropical island of Curacao for a week's vacation! I am SO excited. I started packing on boxing day haha! (..seriously though...)

Today I wanted to show you some of the items I'll be taking with me (and why I think they're important to pack for a tropical vacation!)

Also, I am excited to announce that while I am away I will be having three fantastic guest bloggers posting here on LLB! They are 3 of my personal favorite fashion bloggers so I cannot wait for them to post. I wanted to make sure you, my lovely readers, weren't left without content! Be sure to come back on Monday and see who the first one is - you are going to love her. Also, follow along on instagramtwitter to get photos & updates from my trip

Packing for a Tropical Vacation

y starting point when packing tropical is always my swimsuits! I figure I'm going to spend more time in them than any actual items of clothing so I might as well spend the most time picking my favorites (and picking coverups, accessories, etc. to coordinate with my swimwear!)

Similar Dresses- (1), (2), (3)

I always pack one casual summery dress for a tropical vacation. Something light and breathable that can be worn for a day of sightseeing

Sports Bra // Similar Workout Shorts- (1), (2)

I indulge and laze around most of the time while on vacation, but I do like to have at least one workout outfit on me. You likely won't find me in a gym while vacationing, but I like to be able to a run on the beach or even some yoga/abs by the pool in the mornings. A simple workout outfit is therefore a must!

Similar Tops- (1), (2), (3) // Similar Shorts- (1), (2)
Similar Looking Romper that I LOVE

I like to have one casual outfit consisting of comfortable shorts and a top. This is perfect/necessary for a day of exploring.

In addition to my one casual dress, I always pack one slightly fancier dress for dinners, evenings on the beach, grabbing a late night drink, etc. You may remember me showcasing this dreshere- it was definitely one of my favorite outfits from last summer, and I am still so in love with the fit and pattern. This was my first Lilly dress and I can't get over the amazing fit/quality

Last but not least I pack some jewelry. I go pretty easy on the jewelry when I travel- especially when travelling somewhere tropical where I know I will be in an out of a chlorinated pool, salt water, and be covered in sunscreen. ... Not exactly a fun environment for your jewelry! That being said, I pack 3-5 items that I think are pretty durable. The monogram necklace is perfect because it's acrylic!

Have a fantastic week everyone! I know my guest posters will take awesome care of you while I am away and I will see you back here in a week and a half!

Wednesday Wants: Winter "Blues"

Having seen so much of Pantone's beautiful color of the year lately (Serenity) I have found myself on a bit of a blue kick. I love not only the pale serenity color but also rich royal blues and dark navys as well. This week's wants are therefore all about my "winter blues".

I am slowly but surely getting through my hectic work week and getting over this cold. Hopefully by Friday I will actually be fully recovered! Make sure to come back here to see Friday's post as I will also be sharing an announcement then!

Below are three widgets with my favorite Denim, Blazers & Statement Necklaces so you can browse / mix & match for great outfit combinations.

I have a ridiculously busy work week ahead, and unfortunately I've been fighting off a killer cold all weekend. 10 Things Every Woman Needs in Her Office

**image via pinterest. original from cosmopolitan  //  **Thank you to London Drugs for sponsoring this post
There are a number of things that every woman should have in their office. Having your office stocked and ready makes your life so much easier, and allows you to keep being the girl boss you are.

10 Things Every Woman Needs in Her Office:

Nothing puts a damper on your day then getting a run in your pantyhose and having to walk around all day with it. Having a spare pair of pantyhose in your drawer solves this problem. I love this brand because they are affordable & tend to be on the thicker side - ie. less prone to runs!

2. A Basic Blazer:
You never know when you may have an unexpected meeting where you need to look more polished. A simple black blazer can be thrown on top of nearly anything in a pinch. My top picks for basic blazers are Halogen (very affordable) and Theory (higher end)
Walking around in pain because of a blister is not fun. Keep a pack of these in your desk and ease the pain of any blisters you may have. (Also - if you are getting blisters you clearly have not read my guide to the best heels so do that too haha!)
Having these on hand are really just a benefit to all. They keep your colleagues happy (since you won't get Hangry) and they can help you stay on track with your health goals - saving you from a post work "i-am-absolutely-starving-feed-me-everything" binge. I like Clif bars the best as they are lower calorie than most and are gluten free.

5. Tide to Go
Don't be that unfortunate soul walking around with a stain on their blouse all day. Keep a tide to go stick in your desk at all times.

The miracle product. Keep this on hand to touch up chipped nails, secure loose jewelry stones, seal an envelope, smudge proof a label.. it's a fix all product! This is my favorite because its quick dry!

7. Flats:
Invest in a comfortable, classic pointed toe flat. You never know when your feet will want a break or when you'll need to head out of the office on a quick errand.

By the same token, always keep a basic pair of pumps at the office. You may be wearing flats one day when you unexpectedly need to dress up more, or you may wear winter/walking shoes to the office and then realize, oops!, you forgot your heels at home.

Keep a small makeup bag with basics in your desk for any touch ups throughout the day. Personally, I keep  Revlon Pressed Powder, Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm & this Lipstick (in "Anita" - the perfect subtle shade!)

10. Blanket Scarf:
Office's get COLD. The best way to stay looking office appropriate but get to be cozy is with a blanket scarf. See my top picks, below.

Wednesday Wants: Workout Wear

If you've been following LLB for a while now, you know that on the side I am a dancer...(because apparently being a lawyer & fashion blogger doesn't keep me busy enough! ha) A few weeks back I auditioned for a performance dance team and, to my great surprise, I made it.

Because of this, I have been on a major workout clothing binge all week. I've done way too much online "window shopping" and also bought a couple new sports bras and leggings on the weekend. The above are my favorite active wear items that are available right now. The one item I want the most is definitely the pale blue nikes!

I have my first dance rehearsal tonight. I am so excited to start working with these women - and the choreographer for tonight's piece happens to be one of my favorite choreographers in the city! I hope you all have a great Wednesday night and I will see you back here on Friday!
