I am going to wear the cutest pink and blue midi dress - be sure to follow me on instagram for pics!

3. Party Dress: $98 (down from $145) The mix of satin and velvet in this dress... *swoon*

4. Asymmetric Skirt:
$53 (down from $148) This stunning, versatile skirt can be worn to the office and dressed down for after work drinks. The fact that is only $53 is unreal!

6. Sleeveless Textured Dress: $99 (down from $158) again, a very versatile piece that can easily be dressed up or down. A great deal, especially with that price!

7. Feather Trim Blazer: $75 (down from $95) What a statement piece! I love this, but am always hesitant to buy dramatic pieces like this when they are expensive. I love that this is now a great price!

9. Sleeveless Top: $30 (down from $40) I love the layered detailing of this top, and the wine colour is so rich!

And now that January is almost here, bring on the warm, clothes!! How AWESOME is this monogrammed vest from Marley Lilly?!? Love that 'J Crew Herringbone' look, for a better price AND with a monogram!

I also love print mixing when layering - so with this outfit I matched up the herringbone with plaid, and stuck with a colour present in the plaid (cherry red) for my 'sweater layer'.

3. Plaid Tote: Such a cute winter tote. It's material is perfect for the winter months, and the plaid is so in style this season.

4. Buffalo Check Boyfriend Jeans: These are so cool!! I love finding unique takes on denim, and the buffalo check cuffs are just that!

6. Bracelet: So classic, simple, and a perfect arm party essential.

3 More days until Christmas! Are you guys getting excited!? Despite my best efforts I am never ready for Christmas as early as I would like to be. I *finally* finished all my shopping, wrapping and tree decorating yesterday. I work all three days this week and then I fly back to my parent's place in Ontario on Christmas Eve! It's going to be a whirlwind couple of days but I could not be more excited about heading back to my Ontario to see my family, my friends (and goddaughters!), and to be surrounded by snow!

I hope whatever you are doing this holiday season you get to take some time to relax, smile and enjoy yourself!

New Years Eve Looks: Part Two

Happy Friday everyone! Today is part two of my link-up with Bree from The Urban Umbrella! We are so excited to showcase two more New Years Eve Looks to give you some holiday dress shopping inspiration! Enjoy!

For my second NYE outfit (see Bree & My first post here) I wanted to showcase how to dress-up a simple, "not so holiday-esque" dress, into a holiday look. The key to making an old or 'everyday' dress you may have perfect for new years is in selecting an appropriate colour dress and some glitzy accessories. Wine is really in right now (so are emerald, and navy!) and you can pair any of these colours with some glitter shoes for the perfect pop of glitz. I love, love, love these gold glitter pumps from Aldo. They are just the perfect amount of pointed toe and are super comfy!

My favourite thing about Bree's outfit is the contast between the lace dress and lace cut-out clutch. Pattern mixing is such a trend, and this look does it flawlessly!

Once again, if you don't follow Bree from Urban Umbrella, you should definitely get on that! haha. Her style is affordable and accessible. I love it. Her Instagram is here and her fabulous blog is here

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Gift Guide: The Girlie Girl and The Young Professional

Part two of my "Gift Guides for your Girlfriends" today!! Today's two categories are the girlie girl and the young professional. I'm sure that all of you have both of these type of friends in your life, so I hope these gift guides help!

1. "Is Everyone Hanging out Without Me?": Mindy Kaling has taken the world by storm this year. She is hilarious, and approaches life as a mid 20s and 30s female with candor that is pretty incomparable. This is a great read for any girlie girl.

2. Aldo Pink Tote Bag: This is the *perfect* bag for any girlie girl. It's girlie pink colour is counteracted by it's strong structure/shape. Girlie without being too 'young'.

3. Aldo Polka Dot Bag: Polka dots. The ultimate in girlie. Must have!!

4. Kate Spade Bow Bracelet: No girlie girl can resist a bow bracelet. This one by Kate Spade is classy, delicate and the ultimate in girlie chic.

5. Pale Pink Hair Bow: I am a HUGE fan of all the hair bows that are out there this season. This one is totally affordable, and in a soft pink colour, is perfect for your girliest of girlfriends.

6. Kate Spade IPhone Case: I love this phone case. It's an adorable sketch and so perfect for any girlie girl or fashionista.

7. Initial Necklace: Girlie girls tend to love things with their initials. I love the simplicity of this tiny gold medallion. With an engraved initial it is simple and girlie.

8. Buxom Lip Set: I adore the Buxom lip products (you'll see in my posts I wear them a lot!) and this set is perfect for girlie girls who love to just dab on some gloss and go!

9. Gold Sequin Hanger: This is so perfect for any girlie girl's closet. Who doesn't want to hang one favourite piece (the perfect cocktail dress perhaps!?) on a gold sequin hanger on display?! I know I do! I also love that this comes from an Etsy store. Love supporting crafty individuals instead of just mass corporations!

1. Gold/Faux Pearl Earring Set: Every young professional needs simple, classic, understated jewelery. These earrings are perfect for that.

2. Lilly Pulitzer IPhone Charger: Young Professionals are always on the go, and their phone is essential! Give them the gift of never worrying about their phone dying, while having a super stylish charger.

3. Kate Spade Monogrammed Cards/Envelopes: I ADORE this set. Young Professionals often need to write cards - thank you cards, pleasure to meet you cards, etc. These are so chic; and with the personalization of the owner's initial on the front they are not a card you easily forget!

4. Kate Spade Dot Notebook: Young professionals need notebooks. plain and simple. Why not make list-making and note taking more exciting by giving them a gorgeous notebook to do that in!

5. Hunter Umbrella: If you leave anywhere in the Northwest you understand the importance of a good umbrella! Young professionals need to look polished, and getting soaked does not help that! Give a chic umbrella as a cute yet practical gift!

6. Envelope Clutch: I love this clutch. It's so simple and yet the hint of metallic makes it cool. Perfect for young professionals needing to network in the evenings!

7. Initial Business Card Holder: Who doesn't love a cool way to carry your business cards?! Love this!

8. "Girl Boss": Great for any female in your life that is doing their own thing with their career - this book tells the story of one of the most successful (and yet unexpected!) female CEOs in fashion. This book is a great tool for understanding how to realize your passion and pursue it!

Good morning y'all!

This is one of my favourite cozy but still chic looks. I love the combination of stripes with faux fur, and in Vancouver no wintery outfit is complete without rain boots!

I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for another week! For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you know that I spent the weekend in San Diego! I had such an amazing time catching up with all of the Invisible Children alumni. We reminisced, we reflected, and we partied our little butts off! I am honoured to be part of such a fantastic organization.

New Years Eve Looks: Part One

Happy Friday everyone! I am so excited to announce that I am doing a collaboration with the stunning, stylish and oh-so-sweet Bree from The Urban Umbrella! Bree and I decided to a two-part collaboration showcasing New Years Eve looks (stay tuned for part two next Friday!)

My Outfit Details:
Dress: Forever 21
Heels: Old. Similar: here (and under $40!)
Lipstick: MAC "Candy Yum Yum"

Bree's Outfit Details:
c/o EShakti

Heels: Old. Similar: here

Have you guys heard of The Urban Umbrella before?! If not, I am so excited to introduce you to it! Bree has mastered the 'everyday style' genre - she wears clothes that everyone can wear and feel great in! She also happens to be the first blogger I met upon moving to Vancouver and she has become such a huge mentor/inspiration to me! (...even though I am *cough* a little *cough* older than her haha)

For our first new years eve post, I wanted to show that you can achieve that classic "ALL THE SPARKLE" look, without breaking the bank! My entire outfit (including my lipstick!) is under $80!!! I love this Forever 21 dress because the sequins are 'typical new years' but the geometric design (rather than a solid glittery dress) gives it a unique twist. I am also OBSESSED with these shoes. They are "look-a-likes" of
these amazing Valentino heels... but are practically a thousand dollars less!

What I love most about Bree's look is the crushed velvet on the dress; it is SO festive! I also love that you can pair it with tights for a chic but WARM new years eve look! I hope you guys like Bree and my outfits, and be sure to check back next Friday for part two - we'll show you guys two more kick butt New Years Eve looks!

Gift Guides: The Party Girl & The Busy Bee

This week and next I've got gift guides for all the awesome, wonderful, kick butt girl friends you have in your life. Today I've got two different "categories" for ya; the party girl and the busy bee. Let's just say I have a lot of friend's that fall into both of these categories (.. you know who you are! haha) So without further ado:

Can I just say that the die-hard-party friend is so much fun to buy for! These are possibly my favourite gifts of the season! They are fun, unique, and often things that someone would not buy for themselves, but just love having! I hope you like these!

1. Bath Tub Wine Glass Holder: ... Are you KIDDING ME!?! This is the greatest thing since sliced bread (... though as a gluten free girl, I can't say I really like sliced bread anyway :P) But seriously, this is so simple (cheap!) and adorable. What a perfect gift. ... I may or may not be buying one for myself as well... haha

2. Body Harness: Every party girl needs to be glammed up and blinged out to party. These 'body harness' necklaces are totally the 'it' look right now.

3. "Detox" Davids Tea: Let's face it, were not 18 anymore (what!?) and recovery from partying takes a bit more than it used to. This tea is perfect for Sunday mornings.

4. Star Burst Earrings: These are stunning. They would sparkle up any dance floor from here to Timbuktu.

5. Corcicle Wine Cooler: Such a great idea - allows you to keep your wine on the table, but no worry about it getting cold. This would also be a good gift for any moms or dads out there who are into food and drink!

6. Sunglasses: These are chic and classic with an edgy twist with those metal side bands. Perfect to rock on a rough morning after.

7. Ear Cuff: Like body harnesses, these babies are all the rage right now. Perfect to rock at a concert.

8. Mug: I have a mug addiction, so I basically find mugs to suit every personality. This is so cute for a party loving friend... who also loves her next day coffee.

9. Hat: We got the sunnies covered, but no morning after outfit is complete without a big floppy hat to hide some unruly hair.

With work, and family, and trying to have a social life, so many women are SO busy these days. This is the gift guide for the crazy busy woman in your life. Any gift on here would be a perfect addition to their holiday season!

1. Tech Gloves: I am SO glad to see that there are cute tech gloves available this year. These are so stylish and since they are "tech gloves" they are designed to allow you to still operate the touch screen on your Iphone or other electronic device. Busy women do not have time to remove their gloves (and freeze their hands) to text, so these are PERFECT.

2. Bow Necklace & Earring Set: Busy women don't have time to worry about matching their accessories... this set has ya covered! Cute, simple and a no-brainer.

3. Travel Mug: Repeat after me: I will not hit the snooze button, I will not hit the snooze button. :P Make the busy girl's morning a bit brighter with this adorable (and motivational!) travel mug. Coffee on the go is a necessity for any busy woman.

4. Bath & Body Works "Twisted Peppermint" Candle: This is my FAVOURITE scent from their holiday collection. Sweet, but not overpowering. Every busy girl deserves time to unwind, and what a perfect way to do that then with a festive scented candle.

5. "Jumpy Monkey" Davids Tea: This is one of my all time favourite Davids Teas. For busy women who need the caffeine hit but are either a) trying to cut back on coffee, or b) don't like coffee, this is the perfect gift. This definitely gives you the energy to tackle your day!

6. Essie Nail Stickers: My mama always told me that chipped nail polish is unprofessional and this has always stuck with me. Problem: I have the hardest time keeping my nails from chipping, and I am so busy that when they do chip I often don't have time to fix them; and then I just feel very unprofessional  walking around with chipped nails. Therefore, lately I have become addicted to nail stickers! These babies go on in the same amount of time (or less!) that it takes me to paint my nails, only they stay in place all chip-free looking for a WEEK. These are perfect for busy women who don't have time to worry about their nails, but want their nails to look clean and polished ( perfect for anyone who was raised by a mom like mine! haha)

7. Minimergency Kit: I love this idea. Sephora released this gorgeous sparkly little bag stocked up with all the essentials - sewing kit, bandaids, advil. This is the perfect gift for any busy woman as they can just throw this in their purse and always be prepared!

8. Crossbody Bag:
My final gift pick for the busy bee - this chic crossbody bag!

Tees for a Cause

Tee: Supporting "Love 146"
Long Sleeve Shirt: H&M
Jeans: Express
Boots: Sole Society
Purse: Aldo

Like everyone, I love a good graphic tee. Simple, comfy and so easy to wear. What I love even more is that nowadays many amazing non-profit organizations are designing and selling t-shirts in support of their causes. Before I went to law school I actually was on the non-profit track, in terms of a career, (I even have my master's in international relations!) so I am always on the lookout for good non-profit organizations, and I love wearing their shirts.
The tee I am styling here supports an amazing US non-profit called "Love 146". Love 146 is an international human rights organization dedicated to end child trafficking. I highly encourage you to check them out!

This time of year it is easy to get caught up in all the christmas awesomeness, and forget that there are a lot of people in need out there. I highly recommend you checking out some non-profit organizations this season, and of course purchasing their awesome t-shirts.

Below are some of my personal favourite non-profits (ones I donate to) and my favourite 'non-profit supporting' shirts. It can sometimes be a bit controversial 'recommending' organizations so if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to let me know and I would be happy to discuss with you why I support these organizations!

Invisible Children exists to stop the Lord's Resistance Army. The LRA is led by Joseph Kony, who uses child soldiers to commit war atrocities. Invisible Children seeks to return these kids to their homes and give them a brighter future. It is an organization dedicated to activism and the belief that young people working together can change the world.

I actually worked for Invisible Children way back in the day (2008) and I am proud to be part of an alumni group of over 600 people. These people have tireless dedicated their time, their energy and their everything to this cause and it is truly admirable. Please consider supporting IC through donations, or buying this awesome "Jump First, Fear Later" shirt. It is a great message, and one that I will proudly be sporting.

2. Love 146:

As I mentioned above, Love 146 is an international human rights organization dedicated to end child trafficking.

In so doing, they are helping not just health (through the provision of clean drinking water) but also socio-economic development in these communities as the provision of clean drinking water allows for; among other things, kids to spend more time in school and adults to grow more food locally.

4. Free the Children/ Me to We:

Free the Children is a broader organization that works to develop youth in the developed world into leaders for change. At the same time, it works to provide education and youth development to children in the developing world.
